The induction of the Rev’d Bjorn Kling at St. Paul’s
On 22nd January a large congregation made up of members of the Scandinavian Lutheran Churches and members of the Anglican Church in Athens gathered at St Paul’s. During the Sung Eucharist the Church of Sweden Bishop of Visby inducted the Rev’d Bjorn Kling as the new pastor for the Scandinavian Lutheran community in Greece. Fr. Malcolm and Deacon Chris Saccali were invited to robe and to fully participate in the service. This signifies that the Anglican Church in the UK and all the Lutheran Churches around the Baltic Sea as well as Iceland are in full communion with one another – a fairly recent development on the long road to Christian unity. Afterwards the two congregations met in the Swedish centre close to St Paul’s where a very warm and convivial gathering took place helped by ‘Vin Glogg’ prepared by Pastor Kling himself.
